It...is...TIME!!
The Knights are set to kick off another football season this Friday night at 7 pm. They will play host to the Cashmere Bulldogs of the Caribou Trail League.
Both teams will be returning some key players and filling the gaps with quality, athletic underclassmen. It appears that each team had successful seasons last year, but both ended their seasons sooner than they had hoped.
Cashmere will look to get back to basics this season behind the legs and athleticism of returning league MVP and Quarterback Tyler McNair. They will also rely on their swarming defense to limit the opportunities for Royal.
Royal will start sophomore Alex Myrick at Quarterback, but he will be supported by a cast of experienced teammates in Seniors Dylan Delay, Kyle Spartveit, and Shaq Ledezma. Royal will present a balanced attack on the ground and through the air. Defensively Royal will be very athletic, but will need to also stay disciplined in order to limit Cashmere's option attack.
Who will come out on top and set the tone early for a successful season? This is one of the best Week 1 matchups I have seen in a while and may be the best 1A game in the state this week.
